MOTHER J Heads Into the Recording Studio to Produce the New Mother J CD
Through the Looking Glass one spies Richard Achor (engineer) and Jeff Carswell setting up for laying down the Bass Tracks.
Deep in concentration, Paul Harris creates magic on the keyboard at the session.
Fernanda Bascombe who will be recording the vocals as the Lead Character "Mother J", prepares to drop some scratch vocals to give the musicians a starting point.
Shekina-Joi Bascombe who sings "Mama Told Me I Got Wings" in the musical, rehearses with Bass player Jeff Carswell in the studio.
For the session, Jeff brought along one of the sweetest sounding upright basses I have ever listened to. And I thought that the electric upright was incredible. Wait till you hear this.
Recording is not that glamorous. Meals are down but not dirty. Mickey Carroll (musical director for the production) noshes with Paul Harris.
Even the music great Paul Harris knows how to enjoy a session breakfast.
